Big Wave Daves has gone down to a 4 day week. Hours will be; Friday from 9am, Saturday (Farmers Market Day) from 8:30am, Sunday from 9am and Monday from 9am. Closing time will vary according to customer demand. Check out his facebook page for updates such as Poker Night etc.

Crystal Cruises “Crystal Symphony” was in port last Saturday with about 1,000 passengers and a crew of 545. A lot of the passengers and some crew members came ashore to wander around San Juan del Sur. It was a short stay, 12 Noon to 6pm but the passengers and crew I talked to were pleased they made the decision to come ashore and enjoy the town.
Ranking Barber aka Superstar Barber is moving the shop to the old falafel place on the road into town known locally as El Tropezon. The move should take place in the next 15 days or so. In the meantime the store will be open at its current location Between Mikes Surf and Skate and Casa 28 Beach Fun.
Café Las Flores on the Beach Road in San Juan del Sur has closed again, this time, according to the national company, it’s for an “indefinite period, but it’s not permanent”. Café Las Flores has 9 other locations. One in Granada, the farm in Mombacho and the rest are in Managua including Metrocentro Mall and Galerías Santo Domingo.
Selina (described as a “haven for nomads, travelers, and explorers redefining what it means to travel, work, and explore) has opened an information center in downtown San Juan del Sur in the old Tri-Mar Apartments on the northwest corner of the intersection by the market entrance. Selina has a management agreement to run the building and the corner office will serve to promote that location as well as Selina Maderas which has a variety of accommodation options as well as a “Co-Working space”. The third location in San Juan del Sur will be at the old Casa Blanca Hotel on the beach road but likely won’t happen until early next year, 2019.
